We are now (cue: fanfare) ISO/IEC 27001:2013 CERTIFIED!!!
That’s great but what is it and why are you telling me?
Well, to quote BSI:
“(It) is an internationally recognised best practice framework for an information security management system. (It identifies) the risks to your important information and put(s) in place the appropriate controls to help reduce the risk.”
Including best practice for the prevention of Cyber attacks…notably in the news recently re: Sony Entertainment Corp and their new ‘deemed’ controversial film “The Interview”. Having said that, I don’t think we are producing anything that’s quite going to upset another country :p
Sounds ominous. What does this mean to me?
Well, peace-of-mind for starters. In this day and age of high profile data attacks on businesses, knowing that you are dealing with a partner that takes your information seriously means you can be sure that we are doing everything to a recognised industry standard to protect you and your customer data.
Why have you done this?
Achieving ISO27001 accreditation is no mean feat and we are very proud that we have been able to do so, but the realities are that information security is at the top of most business’ agenda. By recognising that and electing to achieve certification we believe that we have your business’ needs at heart.
What happens now?
For us, business as usual. For you, nothing. Which is a good thing surely?
I would like to thank you for reading this. It means a lot to us and we hope it means a lot you. If you like, you can always call us to discuss the finer details of certification and we would be happy to go over any concerns you might have about your own data.
